Introduction of DHEO

Development, Humanitarian and Education Organization (DHEO) is a non for-profit organization created to help rural populations through the Community Development Councils (CDCs) in reaching a sustainable livelihood through access to emergency assistance and high-quality basic services. CDCs were established through the National Solidarity Program (NSP) and the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program (CCNPP) over the past 18 years played a crucial role in the reduction of poverty, and created access to all development actors at national and sub-national levels and led the development activities through participatory decision-making processes for the better future of their communities.

DHEO team has the experience of working with these CDCs for the past 18 years and is building upon the experience and working with these CDCs in all 34 provinces and districts of the country to sustain what has been achieved so far and further improve the livelihood of vulnerable rural populations.

Experience

DHEO has experience in implementing emergency relief projects in Afghanistan. This includes the distribution of food and non-food items in different parts of the country. by using a different source of data from the ground we are able to identify and target the most vulnerable people in the country.

Most recently DHEO assisted more than 350 households in Herat with food and non-food items.

The project uplifted approximately 2,500 people from poverty and made sure they have enough to eat for the winter.

Outreach

DHEO has a net work of more than 3,000 staff in 34 provinces and more than 300 districts of Afghanistan. 81% of this team is located in districts and has vast experience working with Urban, Pre-Urban and Rural areas. The majority of the team is comprised of Social organizers (Male and Female) who have been trained for years to work with people in Rural and Urban areas.

Frequently asked questions about our association

1. How do you distribute the aid collected when it is no longer needed in the areas where aid is collected?

Donations sent to our foundation are used for the relevant activity or aid. In cases where the effects of war, natural disaster, etc. are eliminated, or the victimization in line with the purpose of the aid is eliminated, our foundation uses the donation for another activity or aid with similar characteristics.

2. Do you accept donations in kind?

We accept in-kind donations such as unused clothing, white goods, furniture, generators, electronic devices, blankets, diapers, and packaged food.

3. How can I deliver my donation to those in need?

You can make a cash donation by coming to the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation headquarters and representative offices. You can make a donation over the internet using the online donation system.
